  It has a detailed Zoroastrian calender with festivals and ceremonial days marked. There is also a list of Persian names along with their meanings. Simple, but knowledgeable site. A must have for all Zoroastrians and religious scholars!

• Persian.com This is a comprehensive site on Persia. The part I found most relevant was the Shahnameh translations decorated with beautiful old court painitngs. "The Epic Of the Kings" was written by Firdowsi Tusi and it is translated here by Helen Zimmern. The translated version is in prose and not in the poetic form as was originally written. But it is a good translation.

  The Shahnameh is important to us because it is a richly woven tapestry of the history of Persia, the fight between good and evil, of warrior kings and powerful dynasties. Read the chapter on our favorite heros: Rustom and Sorab or the story of the loyal horse, Asfandiyar. Kids too will love these stories.

Other Zoroastrian Associations:

• Federation of Zoroastrian Associations of Northern America. A professionally done website and a comprehensive guide to educational and social resources of the community. It has links to all the American Zoroastrian Associations' Websites.

  FEZANA also publishes a magazine which you can read online. Topics worth looking include "Job Listings" and the Matrimonial section ; )! Check out their section on "Zoroastrian World Congress-December, 2000".

• Zoroastrian Association of Western Australia. It is a lucid website with lots of banners and you can click on the word "Menu" to see the list of pages that they offer. If you would like to make comments you can do so under "postings".

• Zoroastrian Association of Northern California. They have cool logo and the drop-down list is easy and space-saving. If you are planning to visit the Bay area be sure to look at their "Directions to Dar-beh-Mehr". The Dar-beh-meher is located in San Jose but away from the hustle-bustle of the city, in a very pastorial place. A must-see for all Zoroastrians!
