SPAM filter policies on AzTeC: New

Hate Spam? So do we and we are going on a full scale attack against it!
Full-scale filtering (open-relay, open-proxy, bldns) is effective as of
07/09. This is in addition to what we had before: it is based on dynamic
databases + local "do not call list" + text-string filters (subject, etc)

AzTeC users should see a sharp drop of SPAM they receive in their mailbox.
While this will be a welcome enhancement of our services, people need to
know how the system works and what it means to them personally. Check out
the AzTeC SIGs (#15 and #17 on the Main Menu) for details.

                         Welcome to AzTeC !

Did you know that AzTeC is a community server run by volunteers?
We are always in need of volunteers who can offer a few hours on
our helpline. Please give us a call at 480-391-6565 and leave a
message with your name and phone number to join the team. Our
volunteers and users will appreciate whatever time you can spare.
Press for more, 'q' to quit, or 'h' for help

Note**Help line callers please remember to leave your name
phone no. and id so a volunteer may call you back. If your
phone is blocked, you must temporarily unblock your line for
a call back. To do this use *87.

AzTeC Computing, as a community computer system, expects its users to uphold
a level of standards that would normally be found in an open public forum.
AzTeC Computing reserves the right to refuse or suspend access to the system
if general common courtesy and public decency are not followed in the use of
the system or if the system is used for commercial purposes.

Please remember that AzTeC Computing is connected via the Internet to many
computer facilities all over the world. Each of these facilities is
responsible for its own quality control. Information is abundant. Much of
it is enlightening, educational, and entertaining; some may be downright
ridiculous. In this international community, peoples' values differ; what
one group deems inappropriate, another may find stimulating. You have the
opportunity here to express your opinions in open forums; so do others.
Being a good information consumer, questioning the validity of what you find,
is important. Supervision of children is in order here -- and a sense of
humor helps, also!
