This web site is being published for the purpose of informing anyone who may be interested in setting up a museum in Yuma that will be the home of one of Yuma's proudest moments in history. It will help remind everyone of the opportunity the YUMA JAYCEES had in 1949 to prove to the politicians in Washington DC that Yuma has the most perfect flying weather in the country.

The Committee thought that if they could prove the unlimited flying opportunities that were available here in YUMA, they could succeed in helping to get the then closed YUMA AIR FIELD re-opened and re-establish a Military Air Field.

We would like to introduce our program, the "City of YUMA" airplane restoration and pending museum, on the information highway, and we are promoting YUMA's unique history.

We will provide:

• Current restoration status and up to date project information available for all interested parties
• Accessible, and education data on YUMA and the history of the 1949 "City of YUMA" record setting endurance flight
• We also hope that this web site will provide us with opportunities to contact other individuals from the YUMA 1949 era that were associated with the flight or others who would like to be involved with the 1999 project
