Michael started the clarinet when he was about 16 and has also played both alto and tenor saxophones and the baritone. He played drums for a while and some keyboard playing. He never performed in school music groups, but played as a semi-professional through the musicians' union in England. He joined the DFNHB in January of 2004. Now that he is getting his embouchure back in shape, he would love to think about joining a small jazz group in the near future. Meanwhile he is learning a lot of new band material pertinent to a good concert band. Hey - we at DFNHB like the use of the word "good!"
