Benefits
of AzGPS Membership
Our organization
began in 1980. We are a group of multidisciplinary group
practitioners, dedicated to the highest quality and standards of
group therapy. AzGPS is the voice of group therapy and other
group methods in Arizona. We have over 125 members throughout
the state.
We offer programs and
activities that enhance the growth of our members. We offer ample
mentorship and leadership opportunities, both as teachers and
trainers, and as members of our Board of Directors, Elected
Officers, and Committees.

The Annual Conferences
As the highlight of
the Society's year, the Education and Training Committee offers
top-notch accredited continuing professional development
opportunities. They provide friendly networking and social
interaction for members and non-members alike. Your membership
allows you a special reduced rate for our conferences.
Continuing Education Units (CEU's) are offered for attending our
Annual Conferences. Visit our
Event Calendar section for detailed and up-to-date information about
these conferences.
The AzGPS Report
Quarterly Newsletter
Published four times
per year, the AzGPS Report Newsletter provides you with
information relevant to the operation of our organization such as
letters from the President and Committee reports. It also
offers both members and non-members alike, a medium in which to
promote your group-related practice and activities.
The AzGPS Web Site
Another tool for both
members and non-members, who are "computer savvy", to obtain
information in a quick, concise format. The web site also
features a "Members Only" section where you can view an online
directory of our membership. Other features of the web site
offer: archives of the AzGPS Report Newsletter, online membership
application and renewal forms, referral information for
member-facilitated psychotherapy groups across Arizona, and quick
access to organization contact information.
Forum Meetings
To assist our members
in obtaining high quality, inexpensive Continuing Education Units (CEUs),
in addition to our annual conferences, AzGPS frequently offers
Forum Meetings. The social and professional gatherings
present topics of interest to group psychotherapists in a fun and
relaxed atmosphere, often held in a member's home.
Scholarships
A limited number of
scholarships are available to our conferences for those members and
students who are experiencing financial hardships.
Student Discounts
Students who are
enrolled in certificate-granting programs in the mental health
professions and allied fields are eligible for reduced rates at our
annual conferences. Students can also attend conferences by offering
volunteer services in exchange for all or part of their conference
registration.
